Let’s visit the studio during wedding season…

Upon arrival, you would be kindly admonished not to take Kathy’s spot at the design island! Kathy has definitely earned her  perch and brings the most experience to our crew; she is the queen of the tiny and tremendous…from the most minute details on a flower girl’s crown to the wow factor of her elevated centerpieces, Kathy’s expertise is on full display, and her willingness to share her mastery with all of us produces the exceptional floral work we are known for.

You would come upon Hillary designing a custom bouquet for one of our brides. She darts to a mirror to see the design from another perspective and considers the placement of each floral element to produce bouquets that every wedding photographer loves to capture. A bride would be fascinated watching Hillary choose flowers; she never misses a nuance in color or contour. Her ability to extract the best from a bride’s inspiration photos to create an original design makes us all stop in our tracks.

Don’t be surprised to find Stacey out in the field sourcing fresh blossoms to overflow our buckets! She is also our seeker of trends and new techniques and encourages our studio and farm to evolve. She is our go-to person for garlands, assuring that every foot is embellished with careful detail. Last season we discovered Stacey had a talent for ceiling installations…expect to see her hovering over your venue’s dance floor, tucking flowers into place to create magic for your guests.

Mae might be new to our team, but she is not a novice. As a farmer and florist, she excels at every  opportunity and brings a youthful perspective and an artist’s eye to our “beehive”. One-of-a-kind arch installations seem to be her specialty, but she is just as adept at finding the perfect textural element for your groom’s boutonniere. Mae’s business of bouquet preservation is the perfect complement to our studio.  https://www.coffarostudio.com/

Mae and her husband Clay have been double-teaming our Delivery and Set-Ups. You will find Clay unloading, placing, attaching and even designing arrangements on-site. His energy and enthusiasm adds to the joy of the”morning of”. I suppose we need to make room for him in the Design Studio as he seems to have a penchant for floral composition.

Every day I wake up in an 1870 farmhouse, surrounded by a field of flowers and a forest to forage. I walk into our studio filled with fresh blossoms, our bride’s Pinterest images, another roll of ribbon that I couldn’t resist, and photos of our children and grandchildren who inspire me to treat everyone like family. Isn’t it funny how a simple request from my niece to “do her wedding flowers” has launched this incredible venture? Weekend mornings are graced by an enthusiastic team that doesn’t mind a 7 AM start and a partner who loves it as much as I do!

I was asked “What is your favorite part of owning Meant to Bee?” My first thought was working undisturbed in the garage far away from the chaos of the studio, but I have to admit I love the many challenges that come with running a farm and business. Some days I am a carpenter and plumber, and many days, a mechanic and farmer…but always an innovator! No day is the same, and we are always trying to find ways to meet the expectations of our brides and come up with unique approaches to bring the beauty of this flower farm to a wedding venue.

I am very fortunate to be a part of the Meant to Bee florist team where going to “work” is such an awesome and rewarding experience. Every wedding is an exciting challenge to complete a bride’s vision.I cherish my role as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and hope that the brides we design for can see how hard we strive to deliver the most memorable arrangements to embellish their family’s special day.

I love being a part of something that “makes the world more beautiful”. Thank you Miss Rumphius. My heart is full of joy each time I step into the cooler filled to the brim with our stunning works of art just waiting to be delivered.  I know that our flowers go out and scatter happiness wherever they land.  What could be better than that?

Flowers, without a single word, create peace, comfort, and joy. Planting seeds and bulbs and watching them grow into gorgeous blooms is such a wonderful experience. Being part of our design team is personally rewarding when all the gathered blossoms become amazing creations. I love discovering new ideas through books, webinars, and classes at Phipps Botanical Garden and sharing them with Meant to Bee.

Since joining Meant To Bee, I have had the opportunity to expand my love of gardening and create beautiful pieces out of stunning flowers that I have watched grow. I never expected to find such joy working with flowers! The process of preparing for a wedding is full of challenges,  but every time I get to see the bride’s reaction to her floral arrangements I simply can’t wait to do it all over again!

I like to start my work day at sunrise putting the finishing touches on our tiny house. Cooking is an absolute passion of mine and a great source of relaxation. The best way to end my day is spending time with my beautiful Mae, playing video games, chess, and reading the Bible.

I’m grateful to spend every day with my husband Clay in our tiny house on our farm. When we aren’t designing beautiful flowers for Meant To Bee and preserving them for Coffaro Studio, we’re out in the garden. I ramble about neurology, physics, and how anything is possible. I love my life as an entrepreneur and traveler.
